On 10 September 2020, ICMPD in the framework of the EU-funded ENIGMMA 2 project, in close cooperation with State Inspector’s Service organised the presentation of the Progress Review of the PDP Baseline Study in the Area of Migration Management in Georgia. The Presentation was led by Tamar Kaldani, ICMPD expert on PDP in Migration Area.
PDP Baseline Study was carried out in 2015 and encompassed three main objectives: review of law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection and respective international standards, analysis of migration management related laws with regard to Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection and examination of the practices of personal data protection in the state agencies involved in the process of migration management in Georgia. ICMPD Expert presented the main findings of the study and provided her insight on the recommendations aimed at the respective state agencies/ministries. Furthermore, Mrs. Kaldani discussed the objectives of the Progress Review of the PDP Baseline Study and presented the future activities and the structure of the research. After the presentation attendees had an opportunity to review and provide a feedback on the questionnaire and implementation of the progress review of the PDP Baseline Study.
The presentation was attended by the representatives from the State Inspector’s Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Public Service Development Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labour, health and Social Affairs of Georgia.
