THE LEVAN ALEXIDZE INTERNATIONAL LAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION EDITION II 2020

On 17-18 December, 2020 ICMPD in the framework of the EU-funded ENIGMMA 2 project, in close cooperation with Academician Levan Alexidze Foundation, organized Levan Alexidze International Law Moot Court Competition, Edition II 2020.

International Law Moot Court Competition was held in honor of Professor Levan Alexidze, late Member of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, the Founder of International Law school in Georgia.

The opening event of the competition was held on 14th of December, 2020. Mr. Teimuraz Antelava, Legal Advisor at the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation was invited to deliver a lecture on International Law and its sources.

The “Edition II 2020” of the LA-IL-MCC was focused on the following issues:

a. Conditions of detention and expulsion of foreigners;
b. Discrimination and intolerance during the global pandemic;
c. Treaties in International Law.

The final event of the competition, which was hold online hosted students from various high educational institutions of Georgia, Ukraine, Latvia and Estonia. By holding the final rounds of the competition with the participation of highly ranked specialists from The Netherlands, Austria and Georgia during the current week, International Migrants Day was also celebrated.
